Both new and returning students are expected to follow the step below to login into their account on the school portal.
First step
Open any of your preferred browsers which could either be Chrome, Firefox, Opera Mini, etc.
Second step
On your preferred browser, search for BUK portal or just click on this link buk.edu.ng. to go directly to the website
Third step
Scroll down and locate the login field or simply click on this link mybuk.buk.edu.ng/sps/login.php to go directly to the student login portal.
Fourth step
In the respective fields, type in your username and your password and click on Login.
How to Check Admission Status on BUK portal
Checking admission status via the Bayero University, Kano portal is actually very simple and not complicated you just have to follow the steps below.
- Login to the school portal through the E-portal buk.edu.ng or click on this link mybuk.buk.edu.ng/ug.admission.checker to go directly to the portal where you can check your admission status.
- Type in your Jamb registration number.
- Then click on check admission status.
However, in most cases you may not be able to check your admission status on the BUK portal, so alternatively, you can check your admission status through the Jamb Cap portal.
How to Check BUK Admission Status via JAMB CAPS
To check your admission status through the JAMB CAPS Portal, follow the steps below.
- Click on this link jamb.org.ng/efacility to go directly to Jamb portal.
- Log in using your username and password.
- Scroll down till you find the button ‘Check Admission Status‘ and click on it.
- Select your Exam year and Enter your registration number in their respective field.
- Now, click on ‘Check Admission Status‘ to see your BUK admission status
Authentication for BUK Students
Both Fresh/new and returning students are expected to authenticate their studentship before they can make payments for their school fees and acceptance fees for new students.
To authenticate your studentship, follow the procedure below.
- Click on this link mybuk.buk.edu.ng/sps/authentication.php to go directly to the authentication page.
- For new students, type in your Admission Letter Invoice No, Application Form Number (Number Only without the PG, PG3 or Leading Zeros prefix), and your Registration No, then click on authenticate
- For returning students, click on the tab Authentication for returning students just beside that of Fresh students.
- Type in your Registration number and username in the respectively filed then click authenticate.

How to Pay your School Fees online via BUK Portal
Do you have any trouble paying your school fees online? don’t worry, this article will guide you through the simple steps to follow.
Both Fresh and returning students who wish to pay their school fees online should follow the steps below.
Note payment of acceptance fees and school fees uses the same procedure below.
- Create an account on the school portal (fresh student only) and also ensure that you authenticate your studentship using the steps above (Both returning and fresh student)
- Then log in to your account,
- Select the academic year and semester you want to make payment for, then generate an invoice.
- Take your generated invoice to any of the designated Banks listed on your invoice and make the payment (You can also choose to make the payment online using your card).
- Go back to the portal and print out your school fees receipt.
How to print your BUK Unofficial Admission Letter
Follow the simple steps below to print your BUK Unofficial Admission Letter
- Click on this link mybuk.buk.edu.ng/myBUKAdmission/ to take you directly to the page where you can print your BUK Unofficial Admission Letter
- Type in your Jamb number, State, and Gender in the required filed and then click on Generate admission Letter, your admission letter will be available for download.
