Ali Nuhu is the richest and most decorated Kannywood actor (Kannywood in the Hausa movie industry in Nigeria) He is well-received for his impressive acting talents.

He is not just an actor he is also a filmmaker, dancer, scriptwriter, director, and producer. He is arguably the actor with the most screen credit starring in more than 180 movies within his 20 years of experience in the industry.. He is mostly referred to by the media as the King of Kannywood.

Ali Nuhu is a multi-talented and well-achieved actor and singer.  His passion coupled with brilliance and intelligence has helped him to make a lot of successes in his career.

Ali Early Life, Family

Ali was welcomed to this world  15 March 1974 in the northern part of Nigeria, Maiduguri town, Borno. He spent most of is childhood in the region, he grew up in territories of Yakasai, No Man’s land, and Hausawa areas in Kano.

Ali Nuhu’s father is Nuhu Poloma he is from Balanga town of Gombe State, Nigeria, as news has it Poloma was a senator.

His mother’s name is Hajia Fatima Karderam Digema, she hails from a village called Bama in Borno State, Nigeria. She worked as a school and teacher, she is also a caterer.

The actor noted that her mum’s contribution to his success is not small and she is his heroine. He talked about how her mum gave her moral and all types of support needed to become a successful actor.

She made a lot of effort and sacrificed her convenience for the success of his son even she had very little to spare, she still gave her best.

Ali Nuhu’s Education

Ali started his preliminary education at Riga special primary school in 1979 and passed out with a leaving certificate in 985. in 1986, he proceeded to  Government Secondary Commercial School in Kano where he observed his Junior Secondary School education and had his junior school certificate in 1988.

Ali moved further to Science Secondary School Dawakin Tofa in 1989 for his senior secondary school education and passed out where he obtained his Senior Secondary School Leaving Certificate in 1991.

When the time was right, he proceeded to the University of Jos to study Geography from 1992  and in 1997, he completed his Bachelor’s degree. He went on to serve his motherland in the National Youth Service Corp in Ibadan, Oyo State in the year 1998, he was part of the Dance and Drama Troupe and also represent the state in the NYSC National Dance and Drama Competition.

Ali Nuhu moved on the University of Southern California to study film production and cinematic arts and this opened more opportunities in his chosen career path which is acting full time.

Career

In 1999, he started acting and starring in movies in Kannywod movie scene,  he attended his first movie audition in The University of Jos while he was still an undergraduate.  He was handed his first role in a movie titled Abin Sirri Ne.

He has since killed it in several movies and blockbusters such as Danadam Butulu, Dijanagala, Wasila, Mujadala, Sangaja and lots more.  he was able very loved and well-respected for his dispositions in Kannywood and he soon becomes the face of the industry. It was a painful experience for him when he lost his mother, he cannot forget the impact and contributions to his successes.

If you are to come up with a list of the most successful actor in the Southern and Northern part of Nigeria, your list will be incomplete without mentioning, Ali Nuhu is one of the finest movie producers the region has ever had.

He was featured in Sitanda, a movie sponsored by Amstel Malta which helped him win the Movie Academy Award’ (AMAA).  He has starred in Ali top  TV Series like “Wetin dey” and “Finding Aisha”.

In his quest to widen his expertise and gain more experience in acting and theatre acts, he traveled to India partake in a film training course at the Asian School of Media studies in New Delhi.
He was also active in the Abuja international movie festival, The Pyongyang Film Festival in North Korea and The Zuma film festival.

H has been to several African, Asia and European countries like Gabon, Cameroun, England, Saudi Arabia, Chad and much more to partake in concerts and exhibitions.

Owing to his referential successes and achievements the media has given different accolades and nickname like “Emir of Kannywood” “Sarki Ali”, “King of Kannywood” and more.
