Some schools did not conduct written Post UTME before it was banned in 2016. However, they started conducting it after it was approved again in 2017.
Some schools did not write Post UTME in 2017 but they did in 2018.
So, here’s the gist.
If you school of choice did not conduct written Post Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) test in 2018, they may conduct in 2021.
On the other hand, most schools that conducted in 2018 will still conduct in 2021.
So, the important thing is that anything can happen. It is best for you to prepare for the worst.
After your JAMB, start preparing hard for Post UTME.
UPDATE: Most private universities will not conduct Post UTME this year.
Post UTME 2021/2022 For Second Choice And Third Choice
Most candidates choose Federal university as first choice, state university as second choice and polytechnic/college of education as third choice.
It is advisable for you to sit for Post UTME for your second and third choice institutions too, just in case.
However, if you are keen on gaining admission into your 1st choice institution, it is not bad neither.
You can register and sit for the Post UTME exercise for your second choice university or polytechnic if they accept it.
State universities like Lagos State University (LASU) and Delta State University (DELSU) will NOT allow you to purchase their Post UTME form as second choice. They do not accept it.
How To Know If Your Second Choice Will Allow You To Apply
Look up their 2019/2021 admission screening form for 2019/2021 and see if they accepted second choice candidates.
If they do, you have a chance.
NOTE:
If they did not accept second choice and you wish to apply for second choice Post UTME in 2021, apply for JAMB change of institution 2021.
Schools That Accept Candidates That Did Not Choose Them In JAMB
Some universities, polytechnics and colleges of education will allow you to apply for Post UTME form in 2021 even if you did not choose them during JAMB registration.
A good example is Ladoke Akinola Technology (LAUTECH). A friend of mine applied for their Post UTME in 2018 and gained admission.
All you need to do is to change your institution to that school after the Post UTME.
A lot of private universities and polytechnics (if not all) accept this. Most state universities used to accept it but only few accept that now.
