Tiktok Launches Green Screen for Duets
TikTok has just introduced a new feature that combines two existing ones: duets and green screen, dubbing it-obviously- “Duets on Green Screen”. The feature allows ‘tiktokers’ to use another already published video on TikTok as a background for recording their own video.
Green or “chroma” screens allow you to easily insert backgrounds, images or other videos into recordings
Thanks to the technology for superimposing images through a chroma, the user utilising the Duets Green Screen function can be placed on that original video, so that their moving image is integrated into the original video.
The chroma is a background, usually green or also blue, that makes it easy to cut the image of the person or object in front of it, to superimpose it on another image or video to be used as a background. Using a chroma on TikTok is very simple, both for a static background – as before – and a moving one.
When used, the silhouette of the user is cut out in an automated way so that the final appearance can come to resemble how it would have been if using the Duets Green Screen function had been present before the camera in the recording of the original video.
One of the ways in which these “Green Screen Duets” can be used is as a reaction to other users’ TikTok videos, which will now appear integrated into the new, an already popular form of publication on this social network. This is an additional option to the existing ones, which consists of playing these reactions consecutively or as a small window superimposed on the main video.
Furthermore, as is the case with current duets, the creator of the original video is tagged in the capture of the new video to be recorded, in order to always identify its authorship.
TikTok star Charli D’Amelio not a fan of the new Tiktok
We are in a period when everything is moving so fast that even the current generation cannot keep up. A typical example is no other than social media influencer, Charli D’Amelio. At the age of 17, she is the most followed person on TikTok with over 115 million subscribers, a meteoric rise, since she created her account in 2019.
The teenager is so popular that her entire D’Amelio family is now on display on the platform. Charli’s sister, Dixie D’Amelio with 51.7 million subscribers is also very famous on TikTok and also hosts a show on YouTube: “The Early Late Night Show.” During the latest broadcast, Dixie invited her sister to discuss several topics.
Here, Charli was able to talk about her unexpected fame, and even gave her opinion on the evolution of TikTok, but not entirely in positive light.
The mega influencer seemed particularly pessimistic during her speech, referring to the stifling race for success against the backdrop of competition which, according to her, has broken what TikTok was just a few months ago.
One thing is certain, Charli D’Amelio takes much less pleasure in flourishing on the platform. She even went the distance in expressing her dissatisfaction by saying she is losing the urge to post content on TikTok.
“A lot of excitement around trying some new things, trying to get into some different categories that I might have been in before but it wasn’t really me, if that makes sense. Just definitely like a lot of exploring what I can do with what I’ve been given,” she shared.
“I don’t want to step on anyone’s toes, and I feel like if I were to go in any direction, I’m like…I don’t know. I would hate to be that person, which I feel like is why I’ve kind of been holding myself back from trying a lot of new things.
“Everyone kind of already has their thing and I haven’t really found mine yet,” Charli continued.
“It’s just difficult because as difficult as it is to try something that no one else has done, it’s like, I would rather search for that than try to compete with my friends. But it’s definitely difficult, I don’t want to have bad blood with anyone.
“I feel like when you have opportunities that are so amazing, but then an entire world of critiques for your every move, it’s very difficult to find enjoyment in things that are being torn down so much,” she Admitted.
“It’s extremely difficult to want to continue doing something that people say how much they hate and it’s hard. It doesn’t feel like it used to where there was collaborations and fun and everyone was friends. Now it’s like, everyone’s trying to beat each other and it’s like, that doesn’t make sense to me.
“The people that were trying to be there for everyone, they kind of left them in the dust and that’s kind of where I feel like I’ve been.
“So it’s difficult when you don’t have like a big friend group to support you when you’re going through things.
“I don’t want to step on anyone’s toes,” she Said, “And I feel like if I were to go in any direction, I’m like…I don’t know. I would hate to be that person, which I feel like is why I’ve kind of been holding myself back from trying a lot of new things.”
In other words, TikTok is evolving so quickly that Charli already regrets the period when the platform was only based on conviviality and collaboration between friends. Today, TikTok has become far too co mpetitive for its liking.
Her anti-remarks come in a groundbreaking week where Tiktok have announced plans to go into the job-recruiting and online shopping sectors.
