Get Rid of Your Disappointment and/or Fear
You may be perplexed or overwhelmed when the scholarship begins. When you join your scholarship #Slack channel and see the massive amount of posts streaming in, you might assume the entire scholarship process is nothing but pandemonium. Here are some reactions you might have:
1. You may believe this is not for you based on your skill level, either because the introductory video courses appear to be too easy or too difficult.
2. You may believe that you are at a disadvantage due to your schedule, as there are many people who can participate full-time.
3. You may conclude that something is not for you in general based on your expectations.
Let me tell you, when our Android Basics Nanodegree scholarship began 9 months ago, I experienced a similar feeling. I won’t claim that your concerns and fears are unfounded, but you must overcome them.
And keep in mind that your fellow scholarship kids are probably feeling the same way you are.
You had a valid purpose for applying. You desired to get fresh knowledge. This is something you should keep in mind.
Isn’t it true that if you really desire something, you don’t even need a scholarship? You can keep listing your disadvantages and challenges, but it won’t help you get closer to your goal.
So, simply put a stop to it. Begin watching the videos and completing your quizzes and projects (if any). This ostensibly tumultuous scenario will soon quiet down.
