To check the result, Candidates need to purchase the WAEC result checker or scratch card which cost N500 (five hundred naira only) from authorized dealers or any WAEC office nearest to them to be able to access their results.

How To Check WAEC GCE Result 2020 On waecdirect.org

  1. Go to WAEC result checking portal by clicking www.waecdirect.org.
  2. Enter your 10-digit WAEC Examination Number.  (This is your 7-Digit centre number followed by your 3-digit candidate number eg. 4673900584)
  3. Enter the 4 digits of your Examination Year i.e 2020
  4. Select the Type of Examination  i.e. PRIVATE CANDIDATE RESULT
  5. Enter the Card Serial Number found on the reverse side of your Scratch card.
  6. Enter the Personal Identification Number (PIN) on your Scratch card
  7. Click Submit and wait for the results window to come up

NOTE: You can only check your result 5 times with the scratch card that you purchase. Once you check it up to 5 fives, you will have to purchase another scratch card before you can check the result.

WAEC GCE 2020 Jan/Feb First Series Statistics

The examination which was concluded on February 4, had a total of 12,395 candidates who registered out of which 12,075 sat for the examination. 6,331 were male while 5,744 were female candidates.

Adenipekun, WAEC’s head of National office, said 11,816 candidates have their results fully processed and released while 259 candidates still have a few of their results being processed.

The analysis of the statistics of the performance of candidates shows that 9,438 candidates obtained credit and above in two subjects.

Meanwhile, out of the 12,075 candidates that sat for the examination, 5,251 candidates representing 43.49% obtained credit and above in a minimum of any five (5) subjects.

The head of the Nigerian national office added that the results of 548 candidates are being withheld in connection with various reported cases of examination malpractice.

Going by the extension notice released, the registration has been extended from Friday, February 21, to Monday, March 2, without the payment of any late entry fee.
