Tarkwa Bay Beach is a small artificial island located along the Atlantic coast in Lagos State, Nigeria. This popular beach was created when Lagos Harbor was being constructed and has been attracting lots of local and international tourists ever since.

How to get to Tarkwa Bay Beach Lagos

The Tarkwa Bay Beach is an island so the only way to access this beach is by boat, and the ride would take approximately 11 minutes from any of the boat stations in Lagos island waters.

Depending on your choice, you can either use a speed boat, hire a private boat or use a public ferry. Going to Tarkwa Bay Beach with a speed boat should cost a minimum of a thousand naira per person but prices may vary depends on whom you meet but the amount covers your trip to and fro.

Make sure to wear the safety jacket given to all passengers in the speed boat and also sit down while the boat is moving.

To get the best value for your money, it is advisable to visit Tarkwa Bay Beach in the early hours of the day (10 am or 11 am) so you can enjoy the beauty of the island.

All boats start leaving the beach by 6pm so go early and have enough fun and get ready to leave by 6 pm.

The best day to visit Tarkwa Bay Beach is during the weekdays because it is less crowdy but if you enjoy the crow then you should visit between Friday to Sunday or during the festive seasons.

The ideal month to visit is during the dry seasons when it is sunny, and warm, avoid going to the beach during the rainy season.

Tarkwa Bay Beach Entrance & Renta Fee

The entrance fee of 200 naira per individual, this would cover just your admittance into the beach. If you want to only walk around the beach no extra fee is required but if you want to get a space you will pay 300 naira for tent, 100 naira for each table, and 300 naira for each chair.

These prices are negotiable depending on the size of your crew. For each individual, 2000 naira is enough to have a good time at Tarkwa Bay Beach excluding food and refreshments.

Entertainment & Food at Tarkwa Bay Beach

This is an important part of every camping, picnic or beach trip, it is recommended that you bring your food and medium of entertainment (Music & games) from home as buying them at the beach is very expensive.

Food, drinks and music are allowed in Tarkwa Bay Beach, so going with a speaker to play music won’t bother anyone.

If you prefer to buy from the beach, they are lots of assorted food and beef barbecue. If you are craving some fresh seafood, you can easily spot fishermen who are always ready to sell and grill the fishes for you.
