About Shell SNEPCo Postgraduate Scholarship
The Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCo) has announced the launch of its first Nigerian Postgraduate Scholarship program.
The scheme’s goal is to give qualified students from any state and the federal capital territory the option to study for a Master’s degree in subjects related to the oil and gas business, with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering and Hydrography.
SNEPCo will provide three (3) one-year M.Sc. scholarships for the academic year beginning September 2017 in collaboration with three universities: the University of Birmingham, Newcastle University, and the University of Plymouth.
Postgraduate Scholarship Programme 2022, Shell Nigeria Exploration and Producing Company (SNEPCo)
The following courses are eligible for scholarship awards at the three institutions:
Birmingham University
- Geotechnical Engineering Master’s Degree
Newcastle University
- Geotechnical Engineering Master’s Degree
Plymouth University
- M.Sc. in Hydography
Eligibility
Applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered for the scholarship:
- Have a good command of the English language (at least 6.5 on the IELTS) and complete the College’s linguistic requirements.
- Obtain admission to one of the approved courses at the college after submitting an application through the standard method;
- Currently holds (or anticipate to hold by the time the Scholarship is awarded) a degree comparable to a UK Upper Second Class Honours degree.
- By September 2022, they will have finished their National Youth Service.
- Be natives of the Nigerian states of Rivers, Imo, Delta, or Bayelsa, and desire to return to Nigeria at the end of the study year.
- Have not had the opportunity to study in the United Kingdom or other developed countries.
- By September 30, 2022, you must be between the ages of 21 and 28.
- Currently based in Nigeria.
- Plan to return to Nigeria once the suggested program of study is completed.
- Possess a valid Nigerian international passport that expires in December 2022.
- Employees of SPDC, the Royal Dutch SHELL Group of Companies, or the College’s relatives (or previous employees who left employment less than 5 years ago) are not eligible to apply for the Scholarships.
How to Apply
1. Apply to any of the participating universities for admission to one of the qualifying courses.
2. Following a formal offer of admission from the university, application forms for the scholarship will only be available through the websites of Imperial College London, the University of Leeds, and the University of Aberdeen.
3. Before being considered for final selection, the universities will analyze applications and choose applicants who will participate in SPDC interviews.
4. Scholarship application forms must be received by participating universities by April 15, 2022.

1. The scholarship will cover full tuition fees, one round-trip travel from Nigeria to the United Kingdom, and a portion of living expenses*.
2. *Please note that the stipends are based on the official living rates of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) and are limited to this only.
