If you have been facing the issue of “Incorrect card details” while trying to check your NECO 2022 result, this article is for you.
I know where the problem is coming from and I am going to show you how to solve it quickly.
The gist is that candidates can now check their NECO results online without scratch card. A new method and portal are now being used and that involves the use of NECO token.
How To Check NECO Result 2022/2023 (June/July SSCE Internal)
WHAT YOU NEED: A mobile phone/PC with access to the internet, a good browser, NECO token (I will show you how to get it) and your Examination number.
See the new NECO result portal below (www.results.neco.gov.ng)
STEP 1: Open your browser and visit new NECO result checking portal – result.neco.gov.ng
STEP 2: Select Examination Year ”2022” (not yet available since the result is not out yet)
STEP 3: Choose the Examination Type “Senior School Certificate Examination External” (same as NOV / DEC in this case)
STEP 4: Enter Your Token
STEP 5: Enter Your Registration Number
Your NECO Examination Number Can Be Found in front of your NECO ID card.
STEP 6: Click On “Check Result” botton to check your result.
Your NECO 2020/2021 result will be displayed to you. You can then proceed to print it out at any cyber cafe or you can save it as PDF for later use (very advisable).
NECO Result Statistics
NOTE: The result stats below is that of 2021, the latest one for 2022 has not been announced yet.
According to NECO acting registrar, Abubakar Gana while announcing the release of the results at the council headquarters in Minna, Niger State, hee said 71 per cent of the candidates obtained five credits including English and mathematics.
He said 829,787 candidates, representing 71.5 per cent, made five credits and above, including in English and Mathematics.
Mr Gana said 40,630 representing 3.53 per cent of the candidates were involved in various forms of malpractice as against 20,181 cases recorded in 2018, representing an increase of over 50 per cent.
He said the rise in the number of malpractice cases in 2020 was not unconnected with the deployment of the new biometric verification device used in the 2020 SSCE.
“More robust monitoring by staff and external monitors also contributed to more sensitivity in detecting malpractices,” he said.
He said some members of NECO staff allegedly involved in malpractice cases had been recommended to face the appropriate disciplinary measures.
”Once they fail to satisfactorily defend themselves, they would be dismissed or punished appropriately, ” he said.

How to check NECO result without scratch card pin
You can now check your result online without the PIN. Just get the token and go to www.results.gov.ng to check your reusult online.
Can I Use One NECO PIN to check more than one NECO Results
No! Each PIN can be used to check only one NECO or NECO GCE result. Once you check your result with a PIN, you cannot use it to check another candidate’s result.
What And How many digits is NECO registration examination number
Your NECO registration number is the same as the examination number found on your I.D card.
How many times can I check my result with a PIN
You can use one scratch card to check your result between 3-5 times. After that, you’ll have to buy another scratch card if you wish to check your result online.
That is why it is highly recommendable to save your result as PDF or you can screenshot it for later use.
