Ini Edo was born on April 23rd, 1982 in the Akwa-Ibom State, Nigeria.

She was born into a family of three where she emerged as the first child of the family. She has to other younger siblings one of which is a male and the other appearing to be female.

Ini Edo spent her childhood in her hometown under strict restrictions and control by her parents. Her father was an elder at the church while her mother working as a teacher in a school.

While with her parents, Ini Edo had one elder cousin who was living with them and she was said to be working then, at a brewery in their town.

Ini Edo completed her primary and secondary education in Calabar, she studied her secondary education at the Cornelius Connely College to be specific.

After completing her basic education, she attended the University of Uyo where she has bagged a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts.

She then further proceeded to the University of Calabar to obtain a Degree in English Language.

Ini Edo was said not to have been so much interested in acting as from the start of her career.

She started acting at the age of 21 and the first debut movie she participated in a Thick Madam.

In the search for more jobs, Ini Edo kept auditioning for various movies and was lucky to eventually got discovered by one of the producers at an audition to be a very talented actor.

The producer was the one who helped her support her career and made her become a sort of upcoming focus in the industry. 2004 was the breakthrough year for Ini Edo as she partook in the then-popular movie, World Apart.
