Job Description

  • To plan, coordinate, schedule, oversee installation and provide maintenance support of electrical distribution systems

Responsibilities

  •  Plans and oversees all activities relating to the operation, construction and maintenance of substations
  • Develops and maintains design standards, material and equipment specifications, construction standards, and engineering practices for substations, supporting the delivery and maintenance of cost effective and high-quality substation assets

  • To provide solutions when the network, technical equipment/infrastructure breaks down or are no longer functioning efficiently

Responsibilities

  •  Coordinates the activities of the technical crew in carrying out technical operations at the Business Hub to ensure a high degree of reliability/availability of the network (maintenance, refurbishment, modifications; and construction, installations, commissioning, and testing of equipment.
  • Ensures all technical equipment is functioning properly within safety margins
  • Responds to customer complaints relating to the network / technical aspects – investigates root cause of problems and initiates corrective actions to rectify problems

Responsibilities

  • Reviews Metering and Relaying Diagrams and determines the required protection and protective relays
  • Installs, maintains, troubleshoots and repairs relay and control equipment in electrical sub-stations e.g. protective relays, instrument transformers, meters, recording instruments,  controls (breakers, regulators, capacitors, etc.)
  • Develops substation drawings (plot plans, relay wiring diagrams, oneline diagrams, raceway and structure drawings, etc.), construction specifications, bills of materials and other supporting documentation
