Daniel Nwosu Jr. was born on 22nd March 1994. He was born in St. John’s, Newfoundland. He has Nigerian origin, however, his family relocated from Ottawa, Ontario when he was young and then to Wichita, Kansas.

Before he became well-known, Dax was a big-time basketball player. He was known as Sunrise Christian Academy while in his senior season. He also was a player for Casper College before heading to the University of Montana and then transferring to Newman University, where he was the leader of his team in the Heartland Conference for scoring. He was employed as a janitor part-time while studying at Newman University. Alongside this the other things he enjoyed, he also performed spoken-word poetry.

He quit his Janitor’s job in the year 2018 to pursue a full-time career as a singer. He claims that he was employed while at school since his parents were unable to pay for his schooling. He was eventually awarded a complete basket scholarship at D1 as well as D2 levels.
