David Adedeji Adeleke popularly known as Davido is a Nigerian recording and performing artist who has a lot of local as well as international recognition for what he does.

Davido Biography

Davido was born into the family of Adeleke on the 21st day of November 1992, in Atlanta, Georgia, in the United States.

His father Adedeji Adeleke, is someone who has achieved great success and enormous wealth through the ownership of multiple lines of businesses, and who is also a politician in the United States while his mother, Vero Adeleke, was a university lecturer, who died on the 3rd day of March 2003.

Being the youngest out of the six children of his Father, Davido was actually given a lot of attention. He had his primary education at the British International School, Lagos State, Nigeria.

He then went further after completing his secondary education at the age of 16 to Oakwood University, Alabama, United States, where he studied business administration.

Davido had started chasing his music career right from then, as he bought varieties of musical instruments, and started learning about beat-making.

Since then, he had started hanging out with his cousins who are now also popular musicians, B-red, and Sina Rambo. They formed a music label that they named, KB international.

Davido dropped out of Oakwood University, after which he went to London to focus fully on his music career. While in London, he also had work done on his vocals.

He kept on for a few years and when it was 2011, he returned to Nigeria. Upon his return, his father requested him to go back to school, and this he honored.

At this point, the new Babcock University student Davido had to give a break to his music career and went on to Babcock University to complete his Tertiary Education.

Even though the school didn’t have music, as one of the courses they offer. They had to start it just for one student which was Davido. This was done as a result of the money hid father paid the school to start the inaugural class of one student.

After four good years in the university, Davido finally graduated from Babcock University.

Davido Career

2012 was a year of huge success for Davido as he came into the lame light after the release of his first debut studio album which he titled Omo Baba Olowo.

The song “Dami Duro” which came as the second song on the album the major hitmaker song for him that year. The album also contained other songs like Back when, Ekuro, Overseas, All of You, Gbon Gbon, and Feel Alright.

He had a very strong promotional team that actually helped him a lot in growing his music.

Davido took to his twitter page to announce that he had signed a record deal into the popular record label, Sony Music.

It wasn’t too long after when he also founded his own record label which he named Davido Music Worldwide and is mostly known to people by its abbreviation, DMW.

His second studio album, a good time, came out in the year 2019, after a lot of anticipations on social media in response to the pre-launch indirect marketing by the rockstar.

The Album contained quite a lot of great music he made, such as “If” and “Fall” which were already out in 2018 and 2019 respectively.

The two songs “If” and “Fall” also generated worldwide social media activity and became the longest-charting Nigerian pop song in Billboard history respectively.

The album also has some other bangers which stirred up everywhere some of which are “Blow My Mind”, “Risky”, and many more. Even till 2020, Davido’s “a good time” album is still the song on everyone’s mouth.

As of now, Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) happens to be one the strongest, and the best record label in the country and they keep waxing stronger with the likes of Mayorkun, Peruzzi, Dremo, Father DMW, and many more as part of the team.

Davido is happily engaged with his aspiring wife, the one and only Chioma Rowland popularly known as the Chef Chi.

He has three children two of which were given birth to by two baby mamas and the third one which happens to his present last born, was given birth to my Chioma.

The name of the two baby mamas are Sophia Momodu and Amanda, and they both have the name of their baby girls to be Imade Adeleke, and Veronica Adeleke respectively.
