To be a Bbnaija Housemate, there are rules and regulations that all housemates should adhere to.

Any default to these laws will lead to disqualification or in rare cases, suspension of affected housemate.

Big Brother Naija (BBNAIJA) Rules and Regulations

Below are some of the rules which is expected of every housemate to abide during their stay in the Bbnaija house.

Big Brother Naija (Bbnaija) Rule 1

Firstly, it is mandatory that housemates must respect the house and their fellow contestants all the time.

Secondly, housemates are not allowed to make contact with people outside the house.
Being in such contiguity to a house of total strangers can be difficult to deal with, but rules have been set and must be followed.

Big Brother has absolute control over everything going on in the house, and big bro never discusses anything going on outside to anyone inside.

Big Brother Naija (Bbnaija) Rule 4

Every housemates are filmed 24/7, and they must always have their microphones on all the time.

The viewers should be able to hear every conversation going on in the house.

Housemates are not allowed to whisper or cover their mouth while speaking with their fellow housemate.

They’re also prohibited to reveal the location of the cameras and microphones.

Big Brother Naija (Bbnaija) Rule 5

The diary session is one of the most important facet of the show’s success. Once a housemate is being called to the diary room, it is expected that he or she leaves whatever and proceeds to the diary room.

Failure to comply will result to a fine, a strike or worse. Housemates can request to enter the diary room at any time of the day or night.

Additionally, sunglasses or hats are not allowed into the diary room.

Doors of the diary room will be locked when not in use, and no housemate is allowed to enter in to the room if it’s occupied.

Big Brother Naija (Bbnaija) Rule 6

Nomination session is also one of the most important facet. Housemates are not allowed to discuss the reason for their nominations with anyone other than biggie.

If a housemate does so, it will be interpreted as a deliberate attempt to influence others.

Also, housemates are not allowed to communicate through hints, signs, symbols or written notes. Housemates are not allowed to enter into any alliance to plot the downfall of fellow housemates.

Additionally, Communicating using languages other than English is not permitted.

Big Brother Naija (Bbnaija) Rule 7

Housemates are not allowed in any way to strike or threaten fellow housemates. Violence will not be harbored into the house.

Any trait of these mentioned above will result to immediate disqualification.

Big Brother Naija (Bbnaija) Rule 8

Housemates are allowed to bring the following items into the house:

• Cigarettes / cigars / tobacco
• Reading materials, either a book or magazine
• Moisturising cream
• Shaving foam, deodorant, shower lotion, a pack of razor blades
• Day cream, night cream, and eye cream
• One cleansing lotion. Cleansing Tonic
• Perfume or aftershave
• Hairspray/ gel hair conditioner and wax
• Lip balm– Musical Instrument (provided it doesn’t need batteries)

Every word from Big brother is a law, and all housemates must comply or obey these rules without failing.

Lastly, only big brother can open up the storage room where housemates will find everything needed for the challenge or task.

He (biggie) will inform the housemates on what they have to do and what not to do in the house.

Important Things to Note about Bbnaija Rules

1. The rules of the house can be changed overtime. Big Brother reserves the right to fix, delete or add any rules as he wishes.

2. Big Brother will not entertain any personal question. What happens in the diary room stays in the diary room and housemates can not discuss whatever happened in the diary room with fellow housemates except the head of the house.

3. Diary and Nomination session are compulsory and housemates are to give valid reasons for nominating a fellow housemate.

4. Nonchalant attitude will not be tolerated in the house. All housemates should comply to these rules and be sure of moving ahead to the final stage.
