Adekunle Gold was born on the 28th day of January 1987 into the Kosoko royal family in Lagos Island, Lagos State, Nigeria.

Adekunle Gold also has his uncle, Jide Kosoko, to be a popular actor in the Nigerian movie industry (Nollywood).

Adekunle Gold studied both his primary and secondary school education in Lagos where he had also completed his tertiary education at the Lagos State Polytechnic and obtained a National Diploma (ND) in Arts and Design.

Adekunle Gold started his music career from a very young age as a member of his church’s choir tea.

He released his first song at the age of 15 and according to Adekunle Gold, he was inspired to go into music due to the fact that he often listens to songs of music Legends like King Sunny Ade and Ebenezer Obey.

While in the University, Adekunle Gold had formed a music band with his friend but got disbanded in 2014 after which Adekunle Gold decided to put more efforts in pursuing his music career.

Adekunle Gold apart from being a singer then is also a computer graphics designer and he is said to be very good and talented.

Adekunle Gold was signed to YBNL record label by Olamide on March 5, 2015, after the release of his contemporary soul song which was titled Sade.

The song happened to be a cover of  One Direction’s “Story of My Life”.

After signing a record deal with the YBNL Nation record label, Adekunle Gold released some other singles like orente, temptation, pick up, and many more.

Adekunle Gold left YBNL Nation in 2016 after the release of his first debut studio album which was titled Gold.

The album consisted of 16 tracks and was produced by Pheelz, Masterkraft, and some other directors in the Nigerian music industry.

Adekunle Gold is happily married to his wife, Simisola Ogunleye, popularly known as Simi.

The couple is happily blessed with a baby boy who goes by the name, Adejare Kosoko. The baby was born on May 30, 2020, during the COVID-19 period.
