The latest JAMB news 2022 on registration can be found on this page.

In case you don’t know, JAMB Registrar, Prof Is-haq Oloyede has announced that the registration for the UTME started on the 8th of April, 2022 and registration will end on the 15th of May, 2022.

Therefore, you must obtain NIN to be able to register for JAMB 2022.

According to JAMB, the 2022/2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Exam (UTME) will hold between June 5, 2021 to June 19, 2022.

The 2021 JAMB mock examination date has been fixed to Friday, 30th April, 2022 for those who register before 24th of April, 2022.

NOTE: JAMB mock examination is totally optional.

While the JAMB mock exam will help you get familiar to the standard of the examination or the type of questions to expect (especially if this is your first UTME), you do not get any additional mark for writing the mock or lose marks for not writing. However, if you ask me, it is very helpful.

How To Register For JAMB 2022/2023

1. Create a JAMB profile and take note of the profile code sent to you.

HOW TO CREATE JAMB PROFILE 2022/2023

Creating JAMB Profile enables a candidate’s information to be stored in JAMB Database and allows for easy registration. The following information below are very important concerning JAMB Profile Creation.

  • First, you need to obtain your NIN. Click here to see how to get NIN for JAMB registration.
  • Let’s say that your NIN is “12345678910″, send an SMS in the format “NIN 12345678910” to 55019 (without the two “).
  • You will receive a 10 digits profile code on the SIM card you sent it with.

NOTE:

The phone number used for the text message is automatically tied to the candidate’s 2021 application, Examination and Admission. CANDIDATES SHOULD NOTE AND ALWAYS REMEMBER THE SIM NUMBER USED, IT IS OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE FOR SUBSEQUENT COMMUNICATION WITH THE BOARD BY OBTAINING UTME/DE APPLICATION DOCUMENTS, A CANDIDATE HAS ACCEPTED TO RECEIVE TEXT MESSAGES FROM JAMB (55019) EVEN WHEN THE “DO NOT DISTURB” IS ACTIVATED.

HOW TO RECOVER LOST JAMB PROFILE CODE

I have already discussed this in one of my previous JAMB guides, see it below.

2. Pay for JAMB E-PIN with your JAMB profile code and NIN.

This payment can be done at JAMB accredited centres, approved banks and NIPOST.

HOW TO RECOVER LOST ePIN AFTER PAYMENT

I.       If ePIN is not Received or Lost, send [UTMEPIN] or [DEPIN] to 55019 for UTME or  DE respectively from the unique number

HOW TO REGISTER COMPLETE JAMB REGISTRATION AT CBT CENTRES

Can I Register For JAMB 2021 With The Same Email I Used In 2022

Yes, but I will advise you to use another email address.

If you sat for JAMB last year and you are given a course you don’t like but you decided to go for the course while you re-apply with JAMB 2021, then you should register with another email address.

If you use the same email address with 2020 JAMB profile, then problem may arise.

What if you want to login to your JAMB 2020 to print your admission letter or do other things and the same email is attached to your 2021 JAMB profile.

You can also imagine a situation where you want to check your name on JAMB matriculation list portal with your email address with two profiles attached?

So, I will advise you create another email address for 2021 registration. Also, don’t allow anyone to register JAMB 2021 for you with their own email address.

Create your own email address (it takes less than 10minutes to do that!)

Can I Register With Same Phone Number In 2021

According to JAMB, previously used numbers for JAMB Registrations can only be re-used by the same candidate who used it in 2020 (Not another candidate).

Previously Used Number is a GSM Telephone Number (SIM) used for Profile Code Creation, e-PIN
Vending and Registration in Previous Registration Exercises.

This can be used for the 2021 Registration ONLY BY THE SAME CANDIDATE.

The Candidate who is using his/her previous number for the second or third time will use the same
profile code to purchase the new e-PIN.

If the Profile Code has been forgotten, the candidate can send RESEND to 55019 and he/she would
recover the Old Profile Code.

In other words, the Old Profile Code can be used by the same candidate to procure the new e-PIN. No
new profile code is required.

However, Candidate cannot change names by using CORRECT on this existing number as this Profile is
already tied to the existing number (typically done before Registration).

Can I Register For JAMB 2022/2023 With 2020 JAMB Profile

Candidate can register at any JAMB CBT Center with existing Profile (e-Mail, Telephone Number, Profile
code) which cannot be changed.

Existing Profile or already used number cannot be transferred to another candidate.

Can I Register With Awaiting Result?

Definitely! You can register for JAMB 2021/2022 with awaiting result. If you are sitting for the coming WAEC/NECO examination or your WAEC GCE 2018 result has not been released, you can still register for JAMB.

Is It Compulsory To Write JAMB Mock 2022/2023

No, JAMB mock 2021/2022 is not compulsory.

If you don’t sit for the mock examination, you will be allowed to write the real examination.

The mock examination is just to help you test how prepared you are for the upcoming examination.

It is not compulsory and you won’t get additional marks in your real examination for sitting for the mock.

Can I Register For JAMB 2022/2023 In SS1

SS1 students in various secondary schools in Nigeria may not be allowed to register for JAMB 2022.

Oloyede said, “It is difficult to say the exact number of applicants we are expecting this time. We expect to crash the number because many of those who are taking the forms are not even prepared or qualified for the exam”.

“Some are SS1 students, who are just trying, contributing N5,000 unduly to our purse. We are putting in some checks to make people who want to apply to be minimally qualified”.

“We are not interested in the money. We are interested in having adequate preparations for those who are genuine students.”

JAMB REGISTRATION PROCEDURES FOR FOREIGN CANDIDATES.

Procedure for the eight foreign centres only is as follows:

  • Registration fee for candidates from the eight foreign countries is $20 or its equivalent in each of the eight countries.
  • Candidates from the eight foreign countries are to download the Application from the Board’s website (www.jamb.gov.ng) complete and submit it with the fee at the eight designated centres as indicated on the website.
