Find out the latest list of all Netflix subscription plans and prices. With a vast library of TV shows, movies, and original programming, most people would agree that Netflix is an essential part of the entertainment landscape.
Like its competitors, Netflix offers a variety of subscription tiers, which differ in price and features. In the US, Netflix even still offers the ability to order DVD and Blu-ray discs in the mail.
Being able to watch a movie or a favorite TV series on-demand has its significant benefit than having to rely on pre-programmed shows or renting movies.
So much so, in fact, that the Netflix we know now was essentially a product of its evolution from being a DVD rental company into a subscription-based streaming giant it is today.
Netflix offers a variety of plans to meet your needs. Below we highlight the updated list of all Netflix subscription plans and prices in 2021:
Mobile-only Subscription cost on Netflix | ₦1,200 ($2.65) |
Basic Subscription cost on Netflix | ₦2,900 ($8.99) |
Standard Subscription cost on Netflix | ₦3,600 ($13.99) |
Premium Subscription cost on Netflix | ₦4,400 ($17.99) |
Netflix Mobile-only Subscription Plan
In September 2020, Netflix revealed its plan to begin testing a cheap mobile-only subscription plan in Nigeria. The Netflix mobile-only subscription is priced at ₦1,200 ($2.65) monthly.
It offers a streaming service to all of Netflix’s large and dynamic library, exclusively on a single mobile device per user. With this Netflix plan you can only watch Netflix on your mobile device and screen casting is not allowed.
Netflix Basic Subscription Plan
Moving forward, let us look at what the Netflix Basic Plan has to offer. At some point, the basic plan was Netflix’s cheapest subscription plan, costing ₦2,900 ($8.99) monthly. Like the mobile-only plan, this option grants users access to Netflix’s wide selection of movies and TV series that are subject to change from time to time.
Furthermore, the basic plan is also just good for a single active user only at any given time. However, what made this subscription choice differ from its mobile-only counterpart is that streaming works on all available platforms, namely mobile, computer, and TV.
Netflix Standard Subscription Plan
Going for ₦3,600 ($13.99) monthly, the Netflix Standard Subscription Plan was not necessarily released for individual consumption. The Netflix standard subscription allows an additional person to stream simultaneously with another person, meaning two can use the same account at the same time. This option is possibly aimed at a pair of customers who essentially share an account and split the cost.
Similar to the basic plan, the standard subscription works on all platforms, but with the added perk of being able to stream shows in high definition, a feature that was significantly absent in both mobile-only and basic plans. What this unique feature meant is that standard users are able to view their shows in greater visual fidelity than those in cheaper subscription plans.
Netflix Premium Subscription Plan
Premium Netflix at ₦4,400 ($17.99) monthly gets you everything available with a Standard Netflix plan, but you can stream on up to four screens simultaneously, and also have the option of watching your favorite shows and movies in HD or even 4K. Perfect for a family or serious cinephile wanting the very best image quality.
