27 Yr Old Russian-Canadian Becomes Youngest Known Crypto Billionaire ($) Through Ethereum

While not a day goes by without cryptocurrencies being the center of attention, a 27-year-old’s fate may well be a cause of envy and the inspiration you need to fully delve into the cryptocurrency sphere.

At 27, the co-founder of Ethereum, the world’s second cryptocurrency behind Bitcoin, has simply become the youngest billionaire in history to achieve such a fortune through virtual currency.

Billionaire in just 7 years

Originally from Russia, Vitalik Buterin spent most of his life in Canada. And when not basking in extreme cold that both countries have to offer, the 27-year-old comes to life in technology and cryptocurrencies, sectors where he draws passion and now resources from.

Co-founder of Ethereum, a virtual currency launched in 2014,  with 6 other people, Vitalik Buterin will have quite significantly , in the space of 7 years, contributed to make this cryptocurrency the second in the world behind Bitcoin. Above all, it allowed him to have enough of it too. At the current price, a modest amount of Ethers at hand exceeds the billion dollars attainable from business endeavours.

The news, announced by Forbes, sets a record in the world of virtual currencies, Buterin being, moreover, the youngest of the 7 co-founders of Ethereum.

A Personal Computer from the age of 4

Trained at the University of Waterloo, Ontario, as an engineer and programmer, Vitalik Buterin did not wait to finish his studies before immersing himself in computer science. Handling a central processing unit from the age of 4, writing a very serious encyclopedia on rabbits three years later while being passionate about hacking Excel sheets; Buterin has spent years getting his hands busy.

His involvement within Ethereum has been the cynosure of all eyes since 2016, when Buterin was rewarded with a 31st place on the 40 most influential people in the world under 40 years in the classification established by Fortune. More than 10 years after the founding of Bitcoin Magazine in 2011, this cryptocurrency enthusiast now sits on a digital treasure of $1.09 billion.

Vitalik Buterin would thus own 333,520 Ethers, whose value reached a record on May 3, 2021. 1 Ether was then valued at $3,278, thus devoting the rise to power of Ethereum, whose currency has experienced a real explosion since the beginning of the year 2021, experiencing an unprecedented jump of 325%. Ethereum has since then shattered the $4,000 ceiling. Buterin and the cryptocurrency firm are notably benefiting from a growing use of DeFi, an acronym for decentralized finance.

Note that the five main DeFi protocols in amounts, Aave, Compound, WBTC, Maker and Uniswap, were all created on Ethereum, and that two-thirds of the amounts committed to decentralized finance, that is $93.3 billion, are via Ethereum.

In other words, Vitalik Buterin can see happy days coming and going in his home in Zug, Switzerland, as he and is crypto cohorts/merchants set their gaze on usurping Jeff Bezos or Elon Musk of the ‘world’s richest’ title.
