HOW TO KNOW IF YOUR SKINCARE PRODUCTS HAS HYDROQUINONE – ZIGIHOW.COM.NG

What is Hydroquinone?
Hydroquinone, also benzene-1,4-diol or quinol, is an aromatic organic compound that is a type of phenol, a derivative of benzene, having the chemical formula C₆H₄(OH)₂. It has two hydroxyl groups bonded to a benzene ring in a para position.

Though researchers have said that hydroquinone dosnt link to skin cancer only to mice, but their are also some certain skin damage that can be causes as a result of prolonged usage of hydroquinone, they are:

•pigmentation of the Eye
•permanent corneal damage
It causes Ochronosis
•it whitens your skin by killing the pigment cells
•It dosnt give a nice tone rather a pasty unhealthy tone.

Have you ever bought a cream or lotion that you were sure contained no Hydroquinone but notice after a few days that the product remnant around the cap had darkened in color? Or your skin start errupting in acne and rash after using a certain product? If your answer is yes to any of these questions, then your cream most likely contains Hydroquinone.

Hydroquinone (a.k.a HQ), is one if not the most controversial ingredient of all skin care products in the market today. As a chemical it has other derivatives/names that manufacturers of beauty product use just to confuse consumers into buying their products without knowing what these products contain.

The FDA in United States approves 2% HQ for Over-the-Counter products, as long as the manufacturers give warning that the product should only be used for 3 months, and this is clearly stated on the packaging.

How ever we all know that hydroquinone whitens the skin, but as a result of doing this it kills your skin pigment cell, skin pigment cells are responsible to produce melanin, which will protect your top skin from the sun rays, other natural skin lighteners such as kojic acid and arbutin they lighten the skin by reducing the production of the melanin and not by killing the cells.
