So, in this very article, we’re going to learn how to formulate a diy skin lightening African black soap in a simplified method.
Ordinarily an African black soap doesn’t lighten the skin, rather it exfoliates and cleanses the skin pores, getting rid of impurities in the skin pores. African black soap also gets rid of acne(pimples) which appears on the surface of the skin. It dries them up in no distant time.
Steady use of African black soap will keep your skin well exfoliated, clear and fresh. But you need to use alongside a good moisturizing lotion. Because African black soap tends to dry out the skin. So it’s very important you use a good moisturizer to keep your skin well hydrated to balance your skin pH level. You wouldn’t like your skin to dry out right?.
So, converting an African black soap to a lightening African black soap is such a good idea. Which means you’re gonna have a multi-purpose soap. Which is an exfoliating soap and at the same time a skin lightening soap. Isn’t that great?.

How To Formulate A Diy Skin Lightening African Black Soap.
If you want to formulate a diy skin lightening African black soap then you must have skin lightening powders such as
- Kojic acid powder
- Alpha Arbutin powder
- Tumeric powder
- carrot powder.
- Cinnamon powder
- Sandalwood powder.
You must have skin nourishing ingredients like:
- Goat milk (recommended)
- Cow milk
- Honey
You must add moisturizing Ingredients like:
- Aleo vera gel
- Aleo vera juice
- Sheabutter
- Almond oil
- Coconut oil.
For the sake of this Tutorial I’ll pick the best combination of ingredients to make an effective diy skin lightening African black soap.
Ingredients List.
- 1 large wrap African black soap
- 2 Tablepoon Kojic acid powder
- 2 Tablepoon Alpha Arbutin
- 5 Tablepoon Tumeric powder
- 5 Tablepoon Carrot powder
- 4 Tablepoon Sheabutter
- 10 Tablespoon Goat milk
- 10 Tablepoon spoon Honey
- 10 Tablepoon aloe vera gel
- 10 Tablepoon almond oil
- 10 Tablepoon coconut oil.
- 2 Tablepoon preservatives (Optiphen plus or Garmall plus)
You can add more tumeric powder, carrot powder, goat milk, honey, Aleo vera gel almond oil and coconut oil if you like. The measurement of Kojic acid and Alpha Arbutin powder should remain the way the are.
If you don’t have goat milk, you can go for cow milk.
Preparation Method
Step 1: Get a clean mixing steel or glass bowl.
Step 2: Cut your African black soap into small chunks or pieces. Pour them inside the bowl.
Step 3: Pour in water into the African black soap. Then dissolve it using double boiler method. You can read how to dissolve skincare ingredients using double boiler method.
Note: Don’t pour too much water into the African black soap, just pour in water that will top up the soap alittle.
Step 4: When the soap must have disolved completely into liquid. Bring down from heat. Set aside
Step 5: Quickly dissolve Kojic acid and Alpha Arbutin powder using double method too. This process won’t take more than 5 minutes.
Step 6: When you must have dissolved Kojic acid and Alpha Arbutin powder. Then pour the mixure into the disolved African black soap. Give it a good stir.
Step 7: Then add other ingredients listed above into the dissolved African black soap and continue to give it a thorough stir using a wooden spoon for proper blending.
Stir the mixure well, if possible use an electric blender if you have one. It’s very important the ingredients are properly mixed together.
Step 8: Then transfer your African black soap mixture in a large jar, where it will be very convenient for you to use.
Congratulations. Your diy skin lightening African black soap is ready.
