HOW TO USE TRETINION (AND ITS BENEFITS)

WHAT IS TRETINION?

Tretinoin, also known as all-trans retinoic acid, with the most popular brand name retin a or a ret is a medication used for the treatment of acne and acute promyelocytic leukemia. For acne it is applied to the skin as a cream or ointment. Its comes in form of a cream or gel, Which also comes in different brand names such as Retin a, A,ret, Renova, Avita. And also comes in different percentage 0.025%, 0.05%, and 0.1%.

This medication is used to treat acne. It decreases the number and severity of acne pimples and promote quick healing of pimples that do develop and diminish wrinkles and Stretch Marks. You can learn more on how to get rid of Stretch marks using tretinion.

HOW DOES TRETINION WORKS?

Tretinion (popular brand name Retin a) works by accelerating the turnover rate of skin cells. It reduces the buildup of dead skin cells on pores. This means that the there will be no blocked pores to promote the formation of pimples on the skin. It also works by making blackheads less sticky as plugs come to the surface of the skin and are expelled out. It will take regular use over a period of time before you can start seeing any positive changes on your skin, though.

Tretinion is also good at removing any dark spots that are left behind by acne or pimples. It can be used as an anti-aging treatment to reduce wrinkles and fine lines on your skin. It will also clear your skin and make it brighter and smoother

Tretinion comes in three streghts/percentage which are 0.025%, 0.05%, and 0.1%.

0.025%: this is the lowest level as a beginner you have to start from this percentage to enable your skin get used to it.

0.05%: This is the second percentage, at this point your skin would have gotten use to the 0.025% that is only when you can use this very percentage.

0.1%: This is the final and the strongest percentage, after you must have used the 0.05% you can now move over to this very percentage.

The essence of this is to start gradually as a beginner or first timer, then work your way up to the highest percentage. The reason for this is to minimize irritations.

Application Method

Retin a should only be applied only at night.
Step 1 Wash your face with a mild soap

Step 2. Wait for 20minutes for your skin to dry(Retin a is applied on a stone dry skin, do not apply it on a wet skin to avoid irritation)

Step 3. Then apply a pea size(small size) of retin on the face

To make it easier for you press out a little among from the tube, apply some on the forehead and some on both cheeks, then gently rub them on a circular motion until its fully absorbed. Finally you apply your Moisturizer.

Note: Tretinion goes in hand with moisturizers, if you must use tretinion then you must also use a moisturizer minutes after application. The best and recommended moisturizer to use is hyaluronic acid serum or cream. You can also use aleo Vera gels and creams, or cucumber hydrating lotions.
