At the age of 11 years, Tiwa Savage and her family moved to London, United Kingdom, where she had her secondary but later went on to the United Kingdom to study her tertiary education. Tiwa Savage graduated with a degree in accounting from the Berkeley College of Music, Boston, UK.

Tiwa Savage had started pursuing her music career right from when she was in her first year in the University and then, she started by making song cover for various top singers and like George Michael, Mary Blige, and many others.

At the age of 16, 5 years after graduating from the university, Tiwa Savage took part in the UKedition of The X Factor, a British reality TV show which focuses majorly on music, and she got a publishing deal with Sony Music publishing in 2009.

A few years later, Tiwa Savage after seeing how fast and well the Nigerian music industry is growing, decided to move back to Nigeria. After which she was signed into the popular record label in Nigeria, Mavins Record, in 2012.

The album actually contained seven tracks from the artiste, Tiwa Savage, and one of the songs from the album “Emimado”, where she featured the CEO of the Mavins Record, Don Jazzy, went so viral across the country. The album was produced by Don Jazzy.

She released her second debut studio album in 2015 which she titled R.E.D, which was said to be an abbreviation for Romance, Expression, and Dance.

The album was produced by the award-winning music producer and singer, Don Jazzy, with the help of other producers like Spellz, P2J, Baby Fresh, and Altims.

Also in the album, she featured some top singers in the music industry and they include Don Jazzy, 2face Idibia (now 2baba), Iceberg Slim, Olamide, Reekado Banks, Busy Signal, and Dr. Sid.

Within 24 hours of releasing the album, it became the most streamed album on the MTN MUSIC digital streaming store and the song promotion was done through the i-am-red.com platform.

In July 2016, Tiwa Savage took to her Instagram page to announce the deal she signed as a publisher and one of the managers at the Rock Nation entertainment company.

In 2018, Tiwa Savage was seen to have appeared video for Fever, a song made by Wizkid, and she also sang the cover for the song. The song went so viral with controversies of Tiwa Savage being in a relationship with the award-winning artiste, Wizkid.

Tiwa was made appear as one of the singers who featured in The Lion King: The Gift album which was made by the American singer, Beyoncé, in one of the tracks, Keys to Kingdom which she wrote and appeared alongside Mr. Eazi, in July 2019.
