Does Soap Require To Foam In Order To Work Properly?

Actually if your soap doesn’t foam after formulation, it may be as a result of too much added oils, or using the soap along side dirty water, as soaps does not foam or leather in dirty water. Dirty water won’t produce foam because soap prefers sticking around the dirt over forming bubbles. But that does not have any negative effect in the added ingredients used in formulating the soap.

Natural Soap Foaming Agents You Should Use.

Below are Recommended natural Foaming Agents you can use in formulating your Diy homemade soap.

Quillaja Saponaria (Soap Bark)

Natural foaming agent derived from the Soap Bark tree, which is native to central Chile.

Decyl Glucoside

A gentle and mild natural surfactant which doesn’t contain any impurities. It is obtained from 100% renewable vegetable origin and is produced by the reaction of glucose from corn starch with the fatty alcohol decanol, which is derived from coconut.

Cocamidopropyl Betaine (CocoBetaine)

Derived from Coconut oil, it gives a smooth silky feel to products and a good foam.

Coco Glucoside

Natural ultra-mild and gentle surfactant derived from coconut and fruit sugars. It can be used as a foaming agent, conditioner or emulsifier, is gentle on the skin and gives a smooth silky feel to products, allowing them to glide over the skin.

Sodium Cocoamphoacetate

A surfactant, foam booster and conditioning agent used in skin care products. This is an organic compound derived from coconut oil which is very gentle on the skin, and helps products glide on smoothly.

How Do I Add These Natural Foaming Agents To My Homemade Soap?.

If after you’re done formulating your homemade soap and you realized it does not foam, all you have to do is follow this simple guide below.

Step 1: Get a Stainless or steel bowl.

Step 2: Cut the soap into pieces, then pour them into the stainless or steel bowl.

Step 3: Add water to the soap.
Note: Don’t add too much water, just alittle water that will slightly cover the shredded soap.

Step 4: Melt down the soap by using a double boiler method Or a microwave oven.

Step 5: When the soap must have melted down completely. Then add any Natural foaming agent of your choice, stated above.

Step 6: Then pour the soap into a soap molder (to give it a shape) and leave it to cool and solidify.

You can go for coconut oil and castor oil. Coconut oil gives lot of bubbles and castor gives creamy foam. Together your soap will really foam like  WOW.
