Wizkid, as he is professionally known, was born on the 16^th of July 1990 in Surulere Lagos, Lagos State Nigeria. His birth name is Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun.

He was born into a polygamous home where his father had three wives. His father Alhaji M.O Balogun is a Muslim, but his mother, Mrs. Balogun is, however, a Christian. Wizkid also has 12 sisters, with whom he grew up with.

He was educated at the Ijebu Ode Grammar School from where he then went to Lagos State University. He later dropped out of school to face his career squarely.

He made some other attempts later to finish up his schooling when he enrolled in Lead City University, Ibadan but he also did not finish.

Wizkid, the 5’4 tall Nigerian musician has a son called Boluwatife whom he begot from his ex-girlfriend, Shola Ogudugu. This child he got when he was just 21 years of age.

Music Career

Wizkid is believed to have started out with music in his local church which he attended with his mother. He stood out in his performances in the church as an 11 years old kid. He also performed with a group called the Glorious Five.

Before Wizkid came to limelight in 2009 he already released an album with seven tracks with his previous name Lil Prinz. His first single song was titled ‘Mami Water’. Well, in 2006 he changed from the name Lil Prinz to Wizkid.
