Tope Alabi is a well-received Nigerian Yoruba gospel songstress who rose to prominence for her gospel music and band. Her standard of music is so unique that other singers of her type are trying to imitate, since her first music debut in the album “Ore ti o common” in 2001 she has become very active, relevant and arguably the best Yoruba gospel female artist Nationwide Nigeria.

Her real/full name at birth is Patricia Temitope Alabi, she was born in Lagos on October 27, 1970. She is also popular by the name Agbo Jesu. She was born to the family of Pa Joseph Akinyele Obayomi and Agnes Kehinde Obayomi, hers is a Christian home and she is the only daughter of the family, She is a native of Ogun State in the South Western Part of Nigeria.
Tope’s Educational Background
She earned a West Africa School Certificate (WAEC) in 1986 from Tope at Oba Akinyele’s Memorial High School in Ibadan. She proceeded to study Mass Communication and bagged a Higher Diploma at Ibadan Polytechnic in 1990.
Tope’s Music & Acting Career
Tope Alabi has had a knack for singing and acting since when she was young, this made her to make a move to join a group named “Jesters International” at Ibadan (Jacob, Papilolo & Aderupoko). It was there she went through music and drama training before proceeding to start her professional music career.
She has had a work record with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) as a correspondent in Ibadan and also with an Advertisement company named, Centre-spread in Lagos, Nigeria. The Alade Aromire Theatre group admitted Tope in 1994. There she hones her skills as a singer and actress.
Since then, Tope Alabi has actively featured in so many film productions, particularly in the Nigerian Yoruba movie industry where she wrote many tracks for Nollywood Yoruba movies, She has in her portfolio more than 14 albums till date, and she knows the stage drama too well.

Tope Alabi is married to her husband Soji Alabi, who is not just a life partner but also an active partner in her music career, they have both welcomed four children. Sources have it that, Tope had an encounter with Christ through the help of her husband.
