It all started on my search for a good and natural serum for my skin, my aim was to lighten away some left over acne scars on my face (especially my cheeks area), this led me to knowing about piment doux serum. After 2 weeks of using this product I’ve decided to share my review on piment doux serum including my likes and dislikes.

The Texture

This serum takes a very light-weight, creamy formula or texture which will easily penetrate into your skin without clogging your pores.

When you apply it on your skin it spreads easily and absorbs quickly.

The Colour

Piment doux serum takes a yellowish colour. It’s as yellow as a ripe papaya. If in case you should open up yours and find it brownish then consider it bad or rancid.

The Scent.

Piment doux serum scents fruity, like the combination of fruits together. It doesn’t scent offensive or overpowering. It scents nice.

The Packaging.

Piment doux serum comes in a bottle and nicely packaged and sealed. It comes in a yellow packet, in a 60ml bottle size, with its name “Piment Doux” bodly crafted on the bottle.

The Ingredients

Piment doux serum is formulated with alpha hydroxy fruit acids which are derived from fruits & plants for mildly exfoliating and brightening the skin, It also contains coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10 for short) which is a naturally produced bodily enzyme and one of the most fundamental antioxidants which helps to even skin tone and reduce the appearance of fine lines.

Not only that…., piment doux serum also contain vitamin A which is responsible for stimulating collagen production, encouraging cell turnover and promotes new cell growth and elasticity in combination with vitamin E an anti-inflammatory antioxidant which also helps moisturizes the skin.

My Review On Piment Doux Serum

I started applying the serum on the affected area every night.

I do that by simply washing the affected area with my DIY African black soap, towel off lightly (leaving the skin moist) then i go ahead to apply the serum on the affected area.

Results

I started seeing results after 5 days of application, it was indeed shocking. My scars started to fade gradually while at the same time my skin started to lighten up. So, I felt the serum was too potent, then I had to mix it with a moisturizer before applying, just to dilute the potency.

After 2 weeks of application, my acne scars all faded away for good. May face really lightened beyond my expectations, but the ultimate goal was to get rid of those nasty spots and my goal was surely achived.

What I Like About Piment Doux Serum

1. The serum is all natural and contains no harmful substances, chemicals or ingredients.

2. It scents fruity and nice. It doesn’t have an overpowering or offensive scent.

3. It’s light-weight and absorbs quickly into the skin, which makes it spread easily while applying on the skin.

4. It’s well packaged and sealed.

5. It’s very effective, potent and active.

What I Dislike About Piment Doux Serum.

1. It’s too strong: Due to its Alpha hydroxy acids content, piment doux serum is too strong and may not be suitable for individuals with sensitive skin. While using piment doux serum I experienced some minor peelings, my skin flaked, so, I had to use it along side a moisturizer.

2. It comes in a small size: Piment doux serum comes in a 60ml bottle size which will last for approximately 2weeks when used economically.

3. Does not contain sunscreen: Piment doux serum does not contain sunscreen which is responsible to protect your skin from the dangerous UV rays of the sun. But that’s not really a problem, you can as well apply sunscreen after applying the serum.

Caution:

The market is flooded with lots of fake piment doux serums. Therefore, there are measures you have to take and things you have to look out for to avoid buying fakes.

How To Detect Fake Piment Doux Serum

First of all, ensure you buy from a reputable beauty shop (probably in ShopRites). This is to limit your chances of buying the fake one in the first place.

When you buy your piment doux serum it comes in a sealed yellow pack.

The serum is wrapped with a label seal.

Now tear out the label seal used in wrapping the piment doux serum you’ll see a bold crafted “PIMENT DOUX” on the bottle, when you see that, just know you bought the original. See image below.

But when you see another brand name, especially B&B brothers it’s totally fake or imitations.

In Conclusion.

Piment doux serum is super effective and potent. According to the manufacturers, it was originally manufactured to get rid of stubborn hyperpigmentations (dark spots) in tough areas such as armpit, knuckles, inner thighs, and knees.

It contains Alpha hydroxy acids (AHA’s) which are group of plant acids used in a variety of skincare products. Which makes this serum strong, and may not be suitable for individuals with sensitive skin.

If you must use this serum and you have a sensitive skin, i suggest you dilute this lotion in a moisturizer before applying or better still apply a deep moisturizing lotion immediately after applying the serum to avoid the occurrence of irritations such as skin redness or peelings.

Finally ensure you apply sunscreen after applying this serum during the day. But if you ask me. I strongly advise you should apply this serum at night only.
